There’s something really special about photographing families at the beach when they arrive open, unguarded, and willing to just be together. The rain just started to fall on as soon as our feet hit the sand. They were visiting from Texas and found me on google so the show must go on!! They did not care one bit and ended up loving the photos!! Hallelujah!!
What I loved most was watching how naturally this family connected. The kids were comfortable, confident, and completely themselves, which allowed the portraits to feel genuine instead of posed. What seems like natural moments were actually directed by me, IYKYK haha I’m not one to hold back on what to do during sessions.
Sessions like this are a reminder that beach family photography isn’t about the backdrop, but about the people standing in front of it. I’m so grateful I got to meet this family and document a season that will one day feel like it passed far too quickly. Creating relaxed, timeless family photos on Pensacola Beach will always be one of my favorite parts of this work.
